About me

Mag. Juanina Oppel

My formal education is extensive and varied. With a B.Sc. (physics and mathematics) I had some small idea of how to describe the world we live in, but for the why of it all I looked at Theology (B.A. Hons). It was while specializing in education (B.Ed. Hons) that I realised that the psychology of the developing brain not only fascinated me but was critical to subject didactics. I am deeply curious and especially intrigued by research on consciousness and mind/body interaction and the implications for our understanding and treatment of psychological distress.

I have taught high school science since 1994, and I also have business experience, having worked in sales as export coordinator for an engineering firm. I have experience as a counsellor and mediator, supervisor/coach (ARGE Bildungsmanagement), transpersonal hypnotherapist (Jana Grossmann – TimeOut training) and am a member of the IACT.

I’ve had the privilege of living on two continents. I am a proud mom and grandmother, I write poetry, and I remain deeply committed to lifelong learning. I share my home with a lovable cat named Lucy.
